A world leader in process control is seeking a graduate engineer with expertise in the power generating industry to act as a Principal Application Engineer at its power automation systems headquarters. A thorough knowledge of distributed control systems, power plant processes and applications is required. This person should be able to play multiple roles in support of sales of automation systems for fossil power plants. They must have a strong customer/sales orientation with a desire for domestic and international travel. Good communication (verbal and writing) skills are essential since the person will have to participate in presentations, demonstrations and proposal preparation. In addition to supporting regional sales managers it may be necessary to directly support specific customers that are deemed house accounts.

The candidate must:

·        Be able to read and understand specifications for automating power generating stations.

·        Be able to develop automation and process solutions to problems presented by customers.

·        Provide technical and commercial assistance to the domestic and international sales force

·        Provide support for trade shows, including giving papers.

·        Participate in the preparation of marketing plans, product development and overall business plans to help the company meet its objectives.

·        Have a thorough knowledge of pulverized coal utility boilers and large steam turbines.

Special consideration will be given to a candidate with knowledge of and experience with fluidized bed combustion boilers and industrial steam systems.

Minimum educational requirements: Bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical engineering

Job Title:   Maintenance Supervisor - Instrumentation
Department: Gas Processing
Reports to:  Manager, Maintenance
Location: Richmond Plant/Passyunk Plant

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for the safe, efficient and expeditious supervision of all associated maintenance and repair activities performed at all gas plant and natural gas facilities.
  • Establishes and coordinates work priorities for maintenance activities.
  • Forecasts and schedules personnel requirements, support services, mobile equipment and material for maintenance projects.
  • Requires use of the Infor DataStream Work Management System for scheduling work and tracking work performance.
  • Reviews and analyzes equipment maintenance histories to determine root cause of equipment maintenance requirements.  Makes recommendations for changes in equipment maintenance requirements, and procedures to reduce costs and increase reliability.
  • Develops and implements detailed maintenance overhaul and testing procedures for plant equipment.
  • Develops and implements preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for plant equipment.
  • Ensure the safe utilization of all shop equipment and tools and closely supervises the activities of all craft personnel to ensure that safe work practices are employed in the completion of maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate work in conjunction with supervisors of other craft disciplines in the completion of maintenance activities.
  • Plans and coordinates maintenance work with operations to minimize equipment turnaround downtime.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Strong supervisory and communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in PC applications such as Word, Excel, Project.
  • AS Degree, ISA certification or equivalent experience in Process Control/ Electronics and 8 years work experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline
  • Experience in mechanical design and development and design for manufacturability of medical devices (at least 3 years in medical device industry, at least 1 year in industrial technical leadership role)
  • Experience with CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Experience performing engineering analysis, designing experiments, mechanical testing (Instron experience preferred), developing test and measurement protocols, managing project plans, and performing data and statistical analysis (Minitab preferred)
  • Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Medical device design control experience

Description of Ideal Candidate: Incumbent is accountable for contributing to medical device product development programs with particular focus on injection systems. As a technical specialist, incumbent will develop and evaluate plans and criteria for a variety of medical device projects. Successful candidate will have demonstrated in depth technical expertise in Mechanical Engineering with a record of accomplishment in design, development and commercialization of medical devices. Candidate must be able to proactively interact with interdisciplinary teams representing all aspects of product development including R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, and Marketing. Candidate must also be able to lead R&D functional aspects of product development.  Familiarity with quality, regulatory and clinical standards including medical device design control requirements is required. In addition to technical expertise, this position requires a high level of people skills as well as excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to proactively interact with vendors, management, manufacturing plants and technical staff is crucial. The candidate shall have broad experience in implementing materials and fabrication processes during the development of commercial medical devices, including injection molding, machining, welding, casting, and bonding of plastics, elastomers, metals, and other high volume manufacturing techniques.
